Selected startups will be pitching at the Top Producer Summit and Mid-South Farm and Gin Show in February and deploying on-farm trials with the AgLaunch Farmer Network members in the spring of 2022
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (February 9, 2022) — The seven agtech startups selected to participate in the 2022 AgLaunch365 Accelerator will showcase and pitch their technologies to farmers this month at the Top Producer Summit held in Nashville, Tennessee and the Mid-South Farm & Gin Show held in Memphis, Tennessee and both events offer options to participate virtually.
These public presentations mark the end of an intensive six-week accelerator program where startups refined their go-to-market strategies and farm trial plans, learned about investment opportunities and how to work with farmers, and gained insight about innovating within the agriculture industry. After the completion of the accelerator, the startups will trial their technologies with the AgLaunch Farmer Network, supported by the AgLaunch farm team. The startups will receive support for their farm trials through the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.
At the center of AgLaunch’s work is a group of farmers engaged and committed to seeing promising agtech startups succeed. The companies participating in the AgLaunch365 Accelerator have been screened, vetted, and endorsed by farmers at each stage of the process. Central to the AgLaunch thesis is the belief that the innovators that will lead us into the future of agriculture will be the ones that are selected by farmers and that work alongside farmers to develop new technologies that address pressing agricultural challenges. To that end, AgLaunch has built a network of early adopter farmers and structured programming for startups to trial their technologies on-farm and receive feedback from farmers at an early stage.
“I’m excited about the startups participating in the program this year. They’re all working on solutions to challenges we face in the field every day,” said Alex Forsbach, owner of Growing Acres farm and member of the AgLaunch Farmer Network. “With some early farmer involvement to shape the technology development and ensure that they are really serving farmer needs, these companies could make a huge impact.”
This year the AgLaunch365 Accelerator included both Row Crop and Livestock focused startups for the first time. The seven teams participating in the 2022 AgLaunch365 Accelerator are:
BovIQ BovIQ is a mobile app that integrates cattle, land, and carbon for more valuable calves, more productive land, and sequestered carbon. Their calf certificates increase market value by more than $100/head, while their grazing management system saves more than $200/cow. Their system also quantifies the capture of nearly 1 billion tons of atmospheric carbon. Founder: Christian Nielson. Pittsboro, NC.
Holganix Holganix Bio 800+ charges soils with over 800 species of beneficial soil microbes to build soil health and crop yield. For farmers, ultimately, that means Holganix Bio 800+ improves their profit per acre, giving farmers the tools they need to drive both economic and environmental sustainability on the farm. Founder: Barrett Ersek, Aston, PA

Applying the SoilMetrix solution enables farmers to apply the right nutrients at the right time at the right place, improving both the farmer’s environmental impact on their land and their farm’s ROI. CEO: Jim Reed, Durham, NC
Susterre Susterre is revolutionizing row crop planting by using ultra-high pressure water jets to better cut through crop residue, while placing crop inputs into the soil.
